Here is a record of known game bugs and possible fix's or workarounds;

Full Screen / Window Mode Issues

Description: A player finds the game running in window mode/title bar when full screen is selected in setup.
Fixes:

1. In Setup.exe, select and ensure "intro" is enabled, this "should" make the game run in full screen.

2. Download a fixed Executable:
EftBP v2.8.7.1
TMP v2.2
LS v2.2

3. PowerShell Script Fix: - Credit: Guardian
If you do not trust the pre-fixed executable, then you can use the following PowerShell scripts to correct your own game exe's, simply place it in the games root folder and run.
EftBP v2.8.7.1 PowerShell Script
TMP v2.2 PowerShell Script
LS v2.2 PowerShell Script

F1 Game Crashes

Description: Players trying to run the game in a 16:9 aspect ratio (IE 1080p) suffer from game crashes when pressing F1 in game to access to construction menu.
Workarounds:

1 Implement the IEO Produced Fix via either the fixed Executable (1.a), the PowerShell script (1.b) or by manually editing the game exe (1.c)

1.a Download a fixed Executable:
EftBP v2.8.7.1
TMP v2.2
LS v2.2

Game Crashing - General

Description: Players sometimes have random situations where the game loads or even fails to load.
Fix: these have often been resolved through adding the game executable to DEP (Data Execution Prevention).
*Process - Open "Computer" then right click -> Properties -> System Protection -> Advanced -> Performance -> Data Execution Prevention then "Add" the executable for the game. Not the shortcut but the .exe file.

Game Crashing - when trying to start Skirmish/Host MP/Start Camp

Description: The Game loads and no matter what resolution or settings are used, if you try to start a Campaign, Skirmish or Multiplayer game and get as far as selecting your profile, the game crashes to desktop immediately once you click "Enter the Game" or "Start Game".
Fix:
1. Open Regedit
2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers
3. search for the game executable and and insert a SPACE between two words in a registry key:
before: DISABLETHEMES HIGHDPIAWAREDisableNXShowUI
after: DISABLETHEMES HIGHDPIAWARE DisableNXShowUI
4. now start the game and it will no longer crash.

Game Crashing - FMV intro or cutscene should be played but instead crashes the game

Description: When the game trys to play an FMV video it crashes the game back to desktop.
Possible Fix's:

COMPATAILITIY MODE
Try running the game in compatibility mode, IE: Windows XP with Service Pack 2

UNINSTALL YOUR CODEC PACK, RESINTALL THE GAME, INSTALL A DIFFERENT CODEC PACK, IF NEEDED
In case your current codec pack is interfering with the game, uninstall any codec packs you have installed (through Control Panel -> Programs and Features). Afterwards, reinstall the game.
If that doesn't work, please try to install a different codec pack, for example: K-Lite.

IF THE GAME USES .BIK FILES, INSTALL RAD VIDEO TOOLS
To check if the game uses .bik files, search for this file type in the game's installation folder.
If you find such files, please install the Bink Video Codec and try launching the game afterwards

ADD FFDSHOW AUDIO/VIDEO EXCEPTIONS
If you're using ffdshow (which is included in pretty much every codec pack), try adding add the game's executable to ffdshow's exclusions list - first in just the Video decoder, then, if that doesn't help, the Audio decoder as well.
To do this, you will need to access ffdshow's settings. You should be able to find an appropriate link in your codec pack's Start Menu group. For instance, for CCCP it would be Start -> Programs -> Combined Community Codec Pack -> Filters -> FFDShow Video Decoder Configuration. You should find FFDShow Audio Decoder Configuration as well.
Once in the Video Decoder's settings, go into "DirectShow control" and find the "Don't use ffdshow in:" setting and make sure it's checked. Click on the "Edit" button in front of it, then click the "add" button and browse to the game's executable file in the game's folder.
Now launch the game and check if the problem persists. If it does, add the executable in the Audio Decoder Configuration as well. If none of them help, you should go back and remove the exceptions.

CHECK DIFFERENT COMPATIBILITY MODES
Right-click the game's shortcut, go to Properties -> Compatibility and try different compatibility modes before attempting to launch the game again.
If none of these help, revert to the default setting, or reinstall the game if you don't recall which setting was the default one.

(WINDOWS XP ONLY) REDUCE GRAPHICS AND/OR SOUND HARDWARE ACCELERATION
First, try different graphics acceleration settings. This is only possible on Windows XP and may fix some unusual game glitches.
To do this, right-click an empty area on your desktop and go to Properties -> Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshoot, then try different Hardware Acceleration levels. We suggest starting with the third position from the right.
If the graphics acceleration settings don't help, revert to the default (maximum) setting, and try different settings of your sound card's "Hardware acceleration" and "Sample rate conversion quality" (starting with Hardware Acceleration). To access those settings, go to your Control Panel, double-click "Sounds and Audio Devices", click the bottom "Advanced..." button and go into the "Performance" tab.
If none help, revert to the default (maximum) settings.

Ingame Videos do not display/run, how do i fix this?

You need to have Indeo Coded installed.
1. You can install it by running as administrator following command (WinVista and newer):
C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64> regsvr32 ir50_32.dll
2. You can install the K-Lite Codec Pack, which includes Indeo Codec to enable vidoes to play within game

GameRanger Hosting Problems

Description: You are able to join game sessions, but cannot host any of your own even though the port forwarding in your router is set up correctly.
Fix: Try deactivating compatibility mode in Windows 10 by right-clicking 'The Moon Project.exe' and unchecking the appropriate section in the application properties. There is a high chance GameRanger is unable to set up the virtualized TCP environment, because it gets confused about what operating system the game is running on.
